During August the two most important tango events of our city are taking place: the Tango Festival and the World Tango Championship. We’re also presenting below a wide variety of interesting cultural and artistic proposals of different types.


 

News

Between August 14th and 22nd the Tango Festival will take place. Here a wide variety of free shows, exclusive performances, tributes, premieres of original productions, lectures, seminars, interdisciplinary spaces and appearances by both established and emerging artists of the genre will be presented. Afterwards, from August 23rd to 31st the 7th Dance World Cup will take place. This is the celebration that establishes Buenos Aires as a Mecca for tango dancers from all over the world. There are already more than 300 couples registered in this event, that will choose the best dancers in the categories “Salon Tango” and “Stage Tango”. It will be held in the traditional Harrods building and the Luna Park. For more information, see www.mundialdebaile.gob.ar.

 

Apart from these events that are organized by the city government, also a private festival will be held from August 10th till the 16th: “Leaders Tango Week”. For more information, see www.leaderstangoweek.com.
